Program and Equity Evaluation and Analysis
| Planning for resilient and equitable EV charging infrastructure | I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and the founding faculty member of the Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience (FIBER) at the University of Florida. My research concern urban resilience to hazards and disruptive technologies. I develop data-driven techniques to quantify and model the interactions between human and their built environment under environmental shocks. I also have extensive experiences with local community engagement through my current smart-cities projects. My expertise includes urban planning (especially infrastructure planning), measuring resilience, quantifying/modeling human behavior dynamics such as charging behaviors, geo-spatial analytics (e.g. GIS), spatiotemporal modeling, applied artificial intelligence among others.
We (my lab) have developed a data-driven anticipatory framework to plan for EV charging station allocation based on charging-while-parking behavioral patterns near urban amenities. The study focuses on two user groups, i.e., multi-family and single-family residents. Recently, we have been developing evidence-based planning framework to assess the resilience gaps of EV charging infrastructure during Hurricane Ian and working on a novel resilience planning framework for EV charging infrastructure in Florida across worst-case scenarios.
I am interested to collaborate on different teams focusing on Topic 1: Enhancing EV Charging Resiliency. Thank you and look forward to talking with you! |
