Organic PhotovoltaicsNano-C is developing and scaling up electronic materials for the use in third-generation solar technology. Nano-C is manufacturing fullerenes (C60 and C70) at industrial scale. While unfunctionalized fullerenes are vapor-deposited as electron acceptor material in the active layer of OPV devices, C60 is broadly used in the electron-transport layers of both OPV and Perovskite PV. For solution processed OPV, Nano-C has developed are large portfolio of fullerene derivatives but also NFAs enabling higher performance of OPV devices, particularly, in terms of stability. Some of our materials can be used as self-assembled monolayers within device architecture stacks. Nano-C has an active program on transparent conducting electrodes targeting semi-transparent applications. We have in-house capabilities to fabricate and test OPV devices at laboratory scale. We intend to systematically screen materials in all layers of the OPV stack and combinations thereof. We are looking for partnerships in the areas of AI and machine learning as well as the manufacturing of minimodules.
