Subject: Long-Duration Energy Storage for Everyone, Everywhere (ESEE) RFI
Please see the full RFI document in the Documents section below.
The purpose of this RFI is to solicit feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders on issues related to sec. 41001 of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), which appropriated $505 million “to advance energy storage systems toward widespread commercial deployment by lowering the costs and increasing the duration of energy storage resources.” The RFI lays out a proposed structure for three provisions within Sec. 41001 in line with a strategy for energy storage technology commercialization.

Category 1B: Energy Storage Demonstration Projects
Category 1C: Energy Storage Pilot Grant Program
Category 1D: Rapid Operational Validation Initiative (ROVI)
Category 2: BIL 41001 Energy Storage Program Crosscutting Topics
Category 2A: Storage Technology Opportunity Readiness Evaluation (STORE)
